Richard has worked for many years in commercial law including a major international pharmaceutical.

His interest in ethics, policy and governance led him into local government and he has spent four years working alongside senior management teams in local authorities in the North West.

Issues addressed included:

• procurement and effective partnership Boards 
• e-Government
• the Freedom of Information Act
• the Data Protection Act
• Employment Law.

Richard is an international speaker on a wide range of legal and ethical issues, including the European Convention on Human Rights, the law in Europe on euthanasia, and the development of the western legal system.

He has also participated in a forum on government and the EU to promote good governance.

Richard travels widely and is active in his church and the local community.
