Susan Williams

Susan has been Leader of Trafford Borough Council since June 2004. She has been political group Leader for the last 5 years, and a councillor since 1998.

She brings unparalleled, up-to-date knowledge of Metropolitan Councils to the team, and managing the issues they face. She is a member of Lord Heseltine's Cities Task Force and its work with the Conservative Party's Social Justice and Quality of Life Policy Groups.

She has managed the development of Members and her (Shadow) Cabinet in opposition and in control.

She has a particular personal interest in health and education. Born in Cork, Ireland and educated in Newcastle, Susan earned a Bsc (Hons) in Applied Nutrition, which led her into work for a charity specialising in support for people with Multiple Sclerosis.

Susan has 3 children and is married to Alex, who is also a Councillor for Trafford MBC.
